Oh Me Oh My

Beau will turn 2 in July. Ugh. I'm pretty sure he is hitting the terrible two's a wee bit early. He is beginning to test me and see what he can and can't get away with. Ugh. He pinches, hits, and bites. Not very often, but it does happen. He's starting to play rough...and I'm ok with that. It's part of being a boy. Not the biting though. That's never ok. I know sometimes it's due to him teething, but lately he bites my toes when he gets frustrated. And I have a problem with laughing at things that need to be taken seriously! So, I have to try and hold it in until after I have a little talk with him. Then I crack up! Well, sometimes.
Beau is very adventurous and persistent! He loves to climb on everything! He is beginning to get himself up onto the couch all by himself. The other day I came out of the bathroom to find Beau standing on the arm of the couch. He was trying to climb onto the window seal which is behind couch. He fell. He hit his head on some TV trays, but is ok. He was just scared. It could have been real bad, cause he could've hit his head on the tile that's in front of the fire place. I know I can't control these things. But I can try to prevent them. I have heard too many stories of freak accidents and kids getting really hurt, sometimes fatally. I need to stop stressin! Beau hadn't even finished crying when he got up and wanted to try again, but mean mommy wouldn't let him this time! I obviously don't want him to get hurt, but I think it's pretty fabulous that he dusted himself off and was ready for round two!

Lollipop

Beau had his 18 month check up yesterday! I can't believe he is 18 months old! So here are the numbers:

HEIGHT: 30 1/2" 8TH PERCENTILE

WEIGHT: 24 lbs 25TH PERCENTILE

HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE: 19" 70TH PERCENTILE

So, yes, he is obviously small, but he is not behind. What I mean is, he is not developing too slowly or not enough (underdeveloped). He is just a pip squeak. Which is fine with me, as long as he is healthy. Well, his head is growing just fine! :) TK called him a lollipop, which I personally think is the perfect way of puttin it.
Beau was also still having his bottle every day up until a week ago. I never thought I would get him off that thing. I just couldn't find the motivation. Then one day I was reading TK's cousin, Holly's blog. http://frestontwins.blogspot.com/ She has twins and was posting about how she got them off the bottle, and that was the last day Beau had his. I just figured if she could do it, with TWO babies, then there was no reason I couldn't. So thank you Holly! (cousin Holly, not TK's sister Holly, just to be clear)

Some Fun Pics

These are a little out of order. They usually are cause I don't really know what I am doing!

I made a tent for Beau with chairs and a large blanket. I did this with my sisters when we were little, and Beau loved it! Did any one else do this?
Of course he had to dump all his crayons inside!
This is Beau's newest place to hang out.

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! We've Got No Place To Go! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Seriously, We've Got No Place To Go!

We have had more snow this winter than what I have seen in my whole life! I am not from Utah originally and it's taken me about 4 years to adjust to the snow in the winter time. Beau and I have a serious case of cabin fever, Beau more so than myself. He would do just about anything to go outside and get rid of his wiggles. Well, wiggles never completely leave a 1 and 1/2 year old, but it helps to run around for a little while:) So, we bundled up and headed out. Poppa (Jerry) was out with the snow blower, clearing the drive way and sidewalk. We watched him for a bit and then Poppa got a cute little sled out and took Beau for a little ride. He had lots of fun! He tipped over once face first into the snow, and decided he had had enough after that. But it was fun while it lasted! Tomorrow is Christmas and I am excited to let everyone know how things go and how Beau reacts! Merry Christmas everyone!!! Yipee!!!

Teething

Beau has the four front teeth up top and the four fronts on the bottom. The last few weeks he has been trying to cut his first molars! This has been a whole new ballgame. He did phenomonal with those first eight. But these molars are tough. They are obviously bigger and seem to be taking longer. Maybe they take longer because they are bigger. He has had a fever at one point and thrown up a couple of times. He is in pain more often than not and BITES EVERYTHING! The proof is in the photo below! I try and do what I can to help ease the pain. I am always open to other mommies opinions and so I would like to share some of the things I do for Beau when he is teething. First, there's always orajel and baby tylenol. I, personally, prefer to try several other remedies before I give Beau tylenol. I found this cool net thingy with a small handle that you can put frozen fruit in. I strip him down, put him in his high chair, and let him go at it. It's really great! This was recommended to me by the lady at 7-eleven. :) Next you can give him a big piece of jerky that he can chew on for a long time. This is my favorite....not messy and seems to be quite effective. Many thanks on this one to my sister Jamee! That's really all I have so far. If any of you have different ideas please share!

Like I said......BEAU BITES EVERYTHING!

Brigham Boyd Andelin

Brigham is the youngest child of my older sister Jamee. He is also Beau's best buddy and cousin, of course. We visited in Reno, where my sis lives, in the summer, and Brigham just loved Beau to pieces. He was always so happy to see him and made sure to take good care of him. Brigham loves ducks and he has alot of rubber duckies. We had a birthday party for Beau while we were out there and Brigham gave Beau one of his best ducks. It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen and it made me cry. Jamee says that Brigham will still ask where "bebe beau" is and he will carry things around and pretend that it's Beau. Oh I love it. This is just for you Brigham! We love you. We miss you.

Fun in the Sun in St George

We went to St George a couple weekends ago. TK's parents, Jody and Jerry, have a second home down there. Jody's mom, Grandma Lo, and Jody's brother, Uncle Mike and his wife Aunt Syd, live down there too. I never know how Beau will be in a new place so I am usually skeptical when we go places cause it will either be really fun or suck really bad. Well, lucky for us, it was a blast! The St George home is just beautiful and it is also one floor which meant Beau got to run wild without one of us right behind him. He loved it. I am pretty sure his favorite part of the trip, though, wasn't just his new found freedom, but the big elk head on the wall. He would just point at that thing and talk about it all day. It was nice for Beau to see some more of his family. He's so funny cause he is loud and happy all the time, but when everyone came over to see us he was so shy. It was cute. We're just glad he got to see his Great Grandma and Grandpa, Lo and Fred. And Mike and Syd, too. We miss you all and can't wait to visit soon and hopefully more often! So fun! Next time I will take some pictures of the house....I forgot this time. But here are some of us at the park. And by "us" I mean Beau ;)

I think these flowers are so cool. This one grows on a bush lookin thing
in the front yard at Jody and Jerrys(St George) home. I don't know their name
