We all have our own ideas on what a little bit of "heaven on earth" means. To some of us, it means stuff like world peace or maybe no more poverty. It could also mean a big slice of chocolate cake during a certain time of the month. (With chocolate icing of course) To me, however, right in this very moment, my little slice of heaven on earth is my baby sleeping through the night the past two nights. He went down at 9:30 and woke up at 7:30! Around 4am I ran into his room to make sure he was ok...and when I discovered he was, I sighed with relief and joyfully crawled back into bed. It's amazing. I wonder though if this will continue to happen, or if it was just luck that he did it 2 nights in a row. Do babies typically continue to sleep through the night once they start, or what? Give me your opinions, please, on what your children have done. I mean I know he won't always have perfect nights, no one does. Whoo Hoo! I am so excited! I actually slept! Oh boy.

Oh yes!! The first time you get more than five hours of sleep in a row through the night.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you put it-a little slice of heaven-
I always thought that the next day I would be able to cur cancer or save a rain forest with all my new energy!!!
The angels are rejoicing for you Stevie, and for Beau-it's sooooooooooooooooo good for the babies to learn how to sleep well.YEA!!!
Love,
Jamee

Hurray for sleeping through the night! Hazel started doing that when she was about 3 weeks old (most likely because that's when we switched to formula and it was filling her tummy longer), and then she's been sleeping through the night ever since! Of course, like you said, there were still bad nights here and there, but overall, she's been a good sleeper. Good luck with everything. I'll pray that he continues to give you those little slices of heaven! =D
ReplyDeleteStevie, you guys all slept through the night. Well, you didn't. I would have been happy if, as teenagers, you slept through the night...ahem. Of course, I used to sneak out at night though my bedroom window. Then Danny decided he'd try it for the thrill. He said he climbed out and stood there thinking, "Well, here I am" and then he went back inside because he couldn't see the point. Good thing. I love your pink fingernails. My friend OJ in Greeley used to call you "Pink" because you had a pink beret in your hair, pink shirt, pink shorts, pink socks, pink lips, pink pink pink and you could say "Awnt mope" and "Awnt pink".
ReplyDeleteSLEEP Glorious Sleep!!! Hopefully he is on his way to being a night sleeper!!! I would always try and keep you guys from taking too long of an afternoon nap or sleeping too long and that way you would go to sleep at a decent hour and sleep longer!!! He is soooo cute!! can't wait until Dec 28th. That's grandma Connie's b-day you know!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember when Briggs slept through the night for the first time..he was actaully around the same age as Beau...it was AMAZING! I was so excited and so relieved! He did continue with that sleeping pattern until he started teething...which was around 6 to 8 months old. So hopefully he will keep this up for ya for a little while. I miss you! I'm glad you guys are doing well and that you're having so much fun with him! Love ya Steves!
