I can't believe my baby is 6 months old today! I knew it would fly by, cause that's just life, but it's crazy how fast time really goes! Beau has grown so much. He has been eating baby food since he was 5 months old. He loves sweet potatoes the best so far and he does really well, taking big bites. He got a jumperoo for Christmas and absolutely loves to jump in it. And we love to watch. He just screams and laughs and talks the whole time. Beau caught his first sickness since he has been home. Just the common cold but I feel so bad for him. He has a yucky cough and runny nose. He hasn't had a fever yet, crossing my fingers, and seems to be in good spirits. Well, as much as he can be. We finally put batteries in his swing and he has enjoyed swinging in that since he has been sick. He doesn't have to work to get it to move like he does the jumperoo, which can make him feel yucky afterward. So the swing has been nice.
Unfortunately, I woke yesterday morning with Beau's cold. He was suppose to have his 6 month check up today and get some shots. But I decided it would be best to wait until he felt a little better. We did go to the doctor on Friday, however, to make sure he didn't have anything worse than a cold, and they weighed him. He is 20 lbs even! His weight gain has slowed since they put him on a little diet, but he still weighs as much as a 12 month old! I love it. He has rolls in the strangest places and i think it is just perfect. I wouldn't change a thing about him.
I called him Love Bug from the day I had him, which then went to Love Buggy, and now just Buggy for short. And that has stuck. So if I ever say Buggy you will know that's Beau's nickname.
TK's parents got Buggy a high chair the other day, and he loves it. I use to just use his Bumbo seat but his little legs are getting too big for it. So the high chair has been wonderful. Plus, I don't have to sit on the floor to feed him anymore.
Tk and I are enjoying parenthood. It's everything I expected and more, of course. I am so in love with Buggy, it amazes me how any of us ever lived without our little ones. I know things like this are said all the time, I just know what people mean by saying them now.
Buggy loves playing with his dad and misses him while he is at work. Beau is my best friend. I love being able to stay home and take care of him every day. Thanks for making that happen TK. I love my boys!

Happy 6 month bday to Beau! I can't believe he weighs 20 lbs! I can't wait till my little ones start gettin some cute rolls on them and I'm so envious that you just barely put batteries in his swing. I have to admit I've had to use the swing already a few times when both kiddos are being needy at the same time. We are lucky mamas to be staying home with our little ones. Hopefully they will get to meet each other someday soon!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so so happy right now! I'm going to be a "me monster" 'cause I'm going to talk about MY used-to-be-six-month-old Jack. He was JUST like Beau! BIG, chunky, happy, loved food, his jump-it AND swing!! I LOVED being his Mom! Reading this post just took me back 4 years, thank you, Stevie! I'm so happy you have Beau. He's perfect, you're right! :)
ReplyDeleteLove you so much! MJ xoxo
p.s.I'm so happy Jamee FINALLY gets to meet her nephew! I know they're all so excited!! :)
I used to have three six month olds. Now they are OLD. I am not, though. You think time flies by fast, now, wait until you hit 50 and you're looking at funeral plans. Well, not exactly. I'm just glad to be able to ride a bike, do push ups and kick people at kung fu.
ReplyDeleteI love Bugs, too, Stevie and TK. I'm so proud of you guys.
I just love that Buggy of ours!!! He truly is the cutest thing and has the sweetest personality especially when he lets grandma hold him until he falls asleep!! Love it!! I sent book 3 today enJOY!!!
ReplyDeleteI miss my little Buggy!! He is so fun to be around and so happy all the time! I miss you too, Stevie! I wish we could live close to each other again...Maybe we will one day.
