A Rough Week

Beau threw up last Tuesday evening right before bed. Then he threw up the next day, Wed, all day no matter what he ate. He has thrown up every day since. And this is not spit up, it is the projectile vomit. He hasn't had any formula this whole time cause it only makes him worse. He has always been on soy formula but it hasn't made any difference. We have been to the doctor twice during this last week and he is now on an antibiotic cause we didn't know what else to try. He has lost some weight. And his mommy is getting very upset and a little depressed. I don't know what to do. He isn't teething, and from what I have been told, he shouldn't throw up when he does. Tk and his dad gave him a blessing last night and he has held his juice down all night and so far this morning. I gave him 3 ounces of watered down soy formula and that hasn't come up yet either. But he usually eats 8 ounces in a sitting. Has anyone been through anything like this before? I hope he is getting better now, I know the blessing will help, but I have no idea what caused all this. It's been pretty frustrating. I feel so bad for him. He is always hungry cause the juice and gatorade is never really satisfying and it has been 7 days! I don't know what to do. It's been a pretty hard week. I have hope since he held down everthing since last night. And I definately have faith in blessings. Again, can anyone relate in any way? It would help to hear anything.

  2. I am so sorry! I can't relate to vomiting for seven days, but here's how I can relate...once when Hazel was just about a year old, she got sick and threw up all day and all night every 15-30 minutes. I remember having her naked down to her diaper because she kept soiling everything with her vomit, and we laid together on a couch cushion on the floor on top of an old ratty beach towel with a space heater to keep her warm (since she was naked...) And I had a bowl full of water with a washcloth to wipe her forehead and which I eventually just let her suck on because that was the only thing she seemed to want and she could sip it in small sips...That was definitely a long, rough night. Also, I can relate to having kids sick for a long period of time with a cold/cough (but not vomiting...)that just never seems to go away. You poor girl! I am glad that he got a blessing, and he seems to be doing better. I hope he continues to do so, and y'all will be in our prayers! It sounds like you're doing a great job taking care of him the best you can, though. =D

  3. You're doing everything right, Stevie.
You took him to the Dr.
    He's on an antibiotic.
    He's gotten and blessing.
Keep trying to give him fluids.
That's the most important thing of all.
    Keeping him hydrated.
    He's probably just got a bug/virus.
    Maybe the flu??
    If he's running a fever, I'd recommend Tylenol/Motrin.
    Let is run it's course.
Keep in contact with his Pediatrician
    and keep us all posted!
    Love ya,
    MJ
    xoxo
    p.s. I'm sorry you're worrying.
    It's no fun.
But it'll be over soon, I'm sure!
